John G. Currie is a long-time Reno resident, well-known to those in the real estate and building trades. He arrived here in 1970, shortly after his graduation from Montana State University with a BS degree in commerce. After a brief stint in banking, he became a real estate salesperson and subsequently, a broker. John’s initial focus as a salesman for new construction led to
additional licensing as a General Contractor. He became a partner in Ponderosa Development, Inc., building single family homes and small professional office buildings. Currie Realty and Investments Inc., the predecessor of our company, was formed in 1978.
In the mid 1980′s, John created John G. Currie Investments, Licensed General Contractor. Along with partner Terry Wasik of Wasik Construction, he built many beautiful custom homes and office buildings throughout Northern Nevada. He was an original partner in the development of Wild Island in Sparks.
After retiring from the construction side of the business, John returned to his roots to become the Broker of Record of Humphrey Home Connections Realty. His extensive experience in construction and real estate sales has proven invaluable to both the agents and clients of HHC.
John moved into well-deserved semi-retirement when Linda Humphrey assumed the role of Broker. He still enjoys helping his long-time friends and clients with their home purchases and sales, and continues to provide much appreciated advice and counsel to all the members of the firm.
